AmaWaterways’ river cruise ships are like floating hotels sailing through national waterways. Ship Embarking Regulations are therefore informed by the Entry Regulations of each country.
To determine what documents you will need for your river cruise, please review the Vaccination and Testing Information for Your Journey, as well as the entry details of the countries you are visiting, as provided by your country of residency. All entry requirement information is evolving quickly and we recommend regularly checking the latest information pertaining to your journey.
Vaccination and Testing Information for Your Journey
For Your River Cruise:
AmaWaterways Vaccination Requirement: Effective immediately, AmaWaterways will only be welcoming guests fully vaccinated against COVID-19 on board our ships. If this decision impacts your sailing, please contact your travel agent for options to reschedule your river cruise.
To join an AmaWaterways river cruise, guests are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving their second dose of Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca or 28 days following a single dose of Johnson & Johnson (based on EMA guidelines). AmaWaterways accepts mixed dosages of these four vaccines.
As entry requirements can change rapidly, we strongly recommend guests take a PCR test prior to departing to avoid any unnecessary travel interruptions and for added peace of mind. The valid time frame of the PCR test may vary between 48 and 72 hours so please refer to the entry regulations of your destination or airline.
For Your Flights:
Airlines have specific documents (ex: Digital Passenger Locator) that must be completed before your flights. Please consult your airline’s website.
If the country you are returning to requires a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours for their return flight, AmaWaterways will be facilitating these tests on board our ships (regardless of whether or not guests have purchased their air through AmaWaterways) or in post-cruise hotels (for guests who have purchased AmaWaterways’ post-cruise land packages). Please visit the government website pertaining to the country you are travelling onwards to for the latest entry requirements.
