Travel Entry Requirements
Travelers are responsible for ensuring they meet the travel entry
requirements of each country visited during the river cruise. Please

IMPORTANT: New UK Electronic Travel Authorization
Requirement
As of January 8, 2025, the United Kingdom requires certain
travelers to obtain an ETA to enter or transit through the UK.
However, airside transit does not require a UK ETA. If you
are simply connecting flights at a UK airport and
remaining airside (not passing through UK border control),
you do not need to apply for a UK ETA.
Who Does Need a UK ETA?
You will need to apply for a UK ETA if:

You are entering the UK for a short stay (e.g., sightseeing, hotel
stays, or other independently arranged plans).

Your transit requires passing through UK border control (e.g.,
transferring between airports or moving landside).
Checking Your Flight Details
We recommend confirming your flight itinerary with your airline to
verify whether you will remain airside during your transit.
If you do need to apply for a UK ETA, applications can be completed
via the UK ETA app (available on the
App Store
and
Google Play) or the official UK ETA website.
Important Reminder
For guests planning to enter the UK or transit landside, we strongly
recommend applying for a UK ETA well in advance. Guests without the
required documentation may be denied boarding their flights.

IMPORTANT: COLOMBIA IMMIGRATION REGISTRATION FORM
All travelers entering Colombia are strongly encouraged to fill out the CheckMig immigration registration form. Filling out this form speeds up the immigration control process, ensuring a more seamless journey.
The CheckMig immigration registration form must be filled out between 72 hours prior to your arrival in Colombia and at least one hour prior to your arrival.

New Namibia Visa Requirement for Africa Safaris & Wildlife Cruises
Effective April 1, 2025, a visa is required to enter Namibia for guests traveling from the US/Canada/UK and most EU countries. As of the last update on this page, the Namibian visa can only be obtained upon entry and cannot be purchased in advance or online at this time. The visa charge is approximately US$88* and can only be paid upon entry by credit card; cash will not be accepted. Visa or Mastercard are the only credit cards accepted. Please note American Express is not accepted. No visa is required for AU/NZ citizens.

Egypt, Dubai and Jordan
AmaWaterways’ top priority is the safety and well-being of our guests and crew. Our experienced operations
team, supported by our local partners, is closely following the situation in Israel and surrounding countries.
Our 11-night Secrets of Egypt & the Nile river cruise and land itinerary is operating as scheduled.
Israel
AmaWaterways has temporarily suspended its optional 4-night
post-cruise land package in Israel. Guests with the post-cruise Israel
package scheduled to depart on Secrets of Egypt & the Nile itinerary
starting in Cairo through July 2025 will be refunded for the
Israel land portion as well as the Cairo to Tel Aviv airfare. Guests
on these impacted departures should contact their travel advisor or
airline (if flights were booked directly with the airline) to review
change fees that may be applicable to their return international
flights.
There are no other changes to any other Egypt river cruise or
associated land packages.
Ukraine
Our experienced operations team is closely following the situation in
Ukraine. If any adjustments to our Eastern European itinerary are
necessary, we will advise our travel partners and guests.
